Stop – "Wake Up"
Stop was the brainchild of Bijan, a local entrepreneur and musician who connected with good friend Danny Rodriguez while he worked at JDC records.
Danny introduced L.A. DJ Martin Rodriguez (no relation) to Bijan and the three of them collaborated and recorded a very raw version of a dance track “Wake Up”…
Martin played the tape of the track at his club Fantasia, it was an instant hit, he made a copy for me and Frank Del Rio…Frank Del Rio played the track at Circus Disco and I played the track at The Tropicana in Hollywood to the same response…
dance floor packer…
We recorded the 16 track version of Wake Up in our studio (Dave’s garage)
… and had Bernie Grundman the World famous mastering technician master the track and they released it through their new label DAMABI…
"Wake up" went on to become an international dance Smash… and was Awarded the 1985 Billboard Magazine “Independent Video of the Year”…
The track also went gold in Mexico, South America, and France…When the group was asked to do dates, they asked me to be a part of the performing group.
